The photos of the 14-days old baby girl with 16-cm visible human tail is circulating online. The case is the first of its kind in Bangladesh, doctor said.
The 16-centimeter long tail was successfully removed at the Al-Karim General Hospital in Dhaka on Thursday.
"This case is not as critical as it is rare. The tail was without nerve, bone, and was not connected to the spinal cord," Dr. NazrulAkash, the pediatric surgeon said.
There are 35-40 such cases recorded so far across the world.The longest ever recorded tail is 13 inches and belongs to a man in India.
