Duterte stops Lotto, STL, Other PCSO Games Over Corruption

President Duterte has ordered the stoppage of all gaming schemes operated, licensed, and franchised by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) due to ongoing investigation of massive corruption and ordered the arrest of those that will still operate starting Saturday, July 27.


"I have today ordered the closure, the stoppage of all gaming schemes or whatever nature however done that got the franchises to do so from the PCSO. The ground is massive corruption involving all," He said.

He order includes PCSO's Lotto, Small Town Lottery (STL) and Peryahan ng Bayan.

The President then ordered Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Oscar Albayalde and the military to make sure that the said number games will stop from operating. 

"As of today I will not honor any any order from any court stopping us or enjoining us to stop our desire to go into a massive investigation for the massive corruption that is existing in the PCSO," the President said.

“I will give them 24 hours to remove them from the public places. Tomorrow, beginning tomorrow at sunrise, everything, all transactions and gaming, wager of bets, becomes illegal,” he added.

Duterte said that he will not honor any court order that would prevent him from closing down the operations of these games.
