Yanson family feud has resulted to strike from confused Ceres workers

Bacolod City - A strike breaks out and operation of Ceres buses in Negros Occidental has stopped because of some issues in the management of the country's largest bus operator, with thousands of employees. The protesting workers has urged the Negros Occidental-based billionaire Yanson family to resolve the feud as soon as possible.

The dispute has occurred after Leo Rey's elder brother Roy Yanson replaced him as the president of the bus group that owns Vallacar Transit, Inc., Bachelor Express, Inc.; Rural Transit Mindanao,Inc.;Sugbo Transit Express, Inc; and Mindanao Star Business Transit, Inc.

Leo Rey has called the move illegal and continues to act as president while Roy was claiming the said position.

Roy's takeover was supported by his sibling Ma. Lourdes Celina Yanson-Lopez, Emily Yanson and Ricardo Yanson, panaynews reported.

However, labor unions condemn the takeover of the new management and expressed their full support to Leo Rey and his team, whom they said have protected the well-being of the workers.

“This would bring us anxiety and confusion because the union is supposed to be the bridge between management and workers of YGBC Mindanao and we are at a loss of what to tell our members if they would ask us what is happening at the top,” the labor union said as quoted from bilyonaryo report.

Around 18,000 workers nationwide were affected which appeals to the board of directors to settle the serious concern among themselves.
