Don't be surprise if the chat feature in your Facebook Groups will no longer available on August 22, the move was to limit spammers and unsolicited messages. According to Facebook they have already removed the option to start a new chat groups last August 16, while on August 22, users can no longer access totally the chat features.
"On Friday August 16th, the option to start a new chat in a Facebook Group will no longer be available.
"On Thursday August 22nd, existing chats in Facebook Groups will still be readable, but you will no longer be able to chat further," Facebook in a statement said.
"Existing chats in groups will become read-only on August 22. All participants of a group chat will still be able to view the conversation history by searching for the chat in Messenger but they will not be able to add new people or continue to send messages within that particular chat," Facebook added.
Meanwhile, Facebook is looking into alternatives for the Facebook Group chat but still no further details have been disclose.
