A Surgeon was hailed a hero for completing seven operations without break before falling asleep on the floor. A picture of him falling asleep after doing a series of procedure went viral, drawing praises from online world.
Dr. Dai Yu and his team had to perform 10 operations on Monday, he didn't take a break until he finished the seventh patient. He fell asleep while sitting on the floor while his colleague took a tiring photo of the doctor.
Dai is the deputy director at the Orthopedic department of Longgang Central Hospital in Shenzhen, southern China. During an interview with local TV station Longgang Channel, he said that they ha started working from around 8am and carried out seven of the procedures without break.
Dr Dai decided to sit on the floor for a quick break while his anaesthetist colleagues were preparing for the next surgery. Then after the 10-minute break, Dr Dai woke up from a quick nap, he continued to the next patient.
But the physician remained humble saying, it was his duty to provide the best care for his patients, he told reporters.
