The Philippine team bounces back after a desperate loss 5-2 against Syria on the qualifiers opening held at the Pana-ad stadium in Bacolod. Azkals got back on track after taking an early goal from Angel Guirado on opener six minute, followed by another goal from Patrick Reichelt on 12th minute, leading Azkals at 2-0.

Both team were looking to get their qualifying campaign, however, Guam failed to execute a good play on the final third as the Azkals parked with two-goal advantage. The Philippines never took the chances for Guam, determined to finish the game with victory as Azkals missed a couple of chances.
Shane Malcolm came closest to finding the back of the net for Guam when he slid in between in the 40th minute but failed to goal. Guam cut the deficit in the 67th minute after a penalty but the Philippines was quick to respond and took the momentum with a goal from Stephan Schrock and another one from Patrick Strauss, 4-1.

Guam will travel to Guangzhou on October 10 to face China PR. However, Azkals will next face China on October 15 at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.
