Just day after the JG Summit Holdings founding chair John Gokongwei Jr. was laid to Rest In Peace, her wife Elizabeth Yu Gokongwei was reportedly passed away today, November 16, 2019.
"Our mother, Elizabeth Yu Gokongwei, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2019, one week after the death of our father, John Gokongwei, Jr., her husband of 61 years,” the family said as quoted in ABSCBN report.
The widow died at the age of 85 and her wake will be held in private, according to the report.
Last November 9, 2019, Filipino billionaire businessman John Lim Gokongwei Jr. peacefully died at the age of 93 years old in Manila Doctor’s Hospital.
Gokongwei has a net worth of $5.8 billion as of November 9, according to Forbes. He was also ranked third in Forbes’ list of richest Filipinos in 2019. The billionaire’s children take over his businesses.
