As far as the American Music Awards go, Taylor Swift is the big winner for tonight. She scored not only one or twice, Swift scored six awards during the night, including artist of the year and crowned as the Artist of the Decade. Carole King, who presented the award, said Swift's "lyrics resonate across the generations, her songs touch everyone and her impact around the world is extraordinary."
"The past decade has been incredible for this brilliant artist, and the best is yet to come," King added.
"All any of the artists, or really anyone, in this room wants is to create something that will last...The fact that this is an award that celebrates a decade of hard work and of art, and of fun and memories -all that matters to me is the memories that I have had with you guys, with you the fans, over the years. We've had fun, incredible, exhilarating, extraordinary times together. May it continue," Swift said when she accepted the award.
The singer performed a medley of her greatest hits in honor of being awarded Artist of the Decade and she kicked it off with "The Man" off her latest album, "Lover."
Her performance ended up with a songs from throughout her career, including, "Love Story," "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "Blank Space." She also sang "Shake It Off," with Halsey and Camila Cabello, and "Lover," with a special performance by dancer Misty Copeland.
