Two Transwoman Flight Attendant Are Joining Cebu Pacific

Cebu Pacific wins the heart of LGBTQ community after hiring for the first time the two transwoman flight attendant, namely Jess Labares and Mikee Vitug.

Jess is a reigning beauty queen in the Visayas region, posted on her Facebook page she has been able to finished 57 days training and now a proud Cebu Pacific cabin crew member.

"Now that I’m officially a cabin crew, I can now say I made it. I surpassed the most difficult training I ever had. This job has always been glamorous to look at, but they don’t know the battle that we’ve fought. It’s not all about looking pretty, it’s been all about your comfort and your safety.

"57 days of hardship, tears, laughter, and sacrifice," she shared. "Becoming a cabin crew [member] was never a childhood dream. It was more like a challenge, a challenge to myself to know what I'm capable of.

"As a trans woman, the first post-op transgender woman flight attendant in the Philippines. History has been made. I will forever cherish this opportunity given by Cebu Pacific.

"I hope this will be an inspiration not just to the LGBTQ community but to everyone who dreams and has goals in life to never give up on something you really want. Perseverance, positivity, determination and loving what you are doing are some of the perfect formulae to achieve your goal and will definitely lead you the way to success and happiness. Now I can finally say, this is by far the greatest crown I have ever achieved," she wrote on her social media post.

Another licensed pharmacist, Mikee also celebrated her achievement in social media through her Facebook post were she recounted all the challenges in her two-month training. She felt relieved and grateful for the people who made her dream come true.

"I feel honored and humbled that I am one of the first transwoman cabin crew dito sa Philippines. This is something new and I hope it will spark a change sa kung paano ang pag tingin ng mga tao sa mga transwoman na hindi kami ibox or istereotype kasi tao din naman kami, capable din kami, normal lang din kami na tao." Mikee writes. "I am grateful na binigyan ako and Miss Jess Labares ng rare opportunity ng Cebu Pacific CebGo na iprove ang sarili namin na kaya namin maging cabin crew," Mikee said in her post.
