Finland to introduce four-day working week and Six-Hour days

The 34-year-old Prime Minister Sanna Marin of Finland wants to introduce a four-day working week and six-hour days that will allow the public to spend more time with their families.

Sanna Marin, the second youngest head of government in the world and a mother-of-one follows the lead of Scandanavian neighbor Sweden, where a six-hour working experiment began in 2015.

“I believe people deserve to spend more time with their families, loved ones, hobbies and other aspects of life, such as culture. This could be the next step for us in working life,” said Marin as quoted in New Europe newspaper report.

Before Marin became Prime Minister she held a position as the Minister of Transport for Finland.

Currently the typical working week in Finland is eight hours a day, five days a week.
