Jack Ma Donates $14 Million To Help Find Cure For Coronavirus

Alibaba founder Jack Ma has donated 100 million yuan ($14.4 million) to help find vaccine for the Wuhan coronavirus. 


Through his foundation, the Chinese billionaire earmarked 40 million yuan ($5.6 million) for two Chinese government research organizations such as Chinese Academy of Science and Chinese Academy of Engineering.

The rest of the fund will support "prevention and treatment" measures, the foundation said. 

His foundation said it would also offer all necessary Al computing power to research teams free of charge to help the country search for a vaccine or treatments.

The company will also fund to buy medical supplies for Wuhan and Hubei province, the epicenter of the virus outbreak. 


The 55-year-old Ma, has worth $42.8 billion and he was the wealthiest man in China in 2019, according to Forbes.
