DepEd orders mandatory self-quarantine to at least 500 students, teachers in Bicol

At least 500 students, teachers, and employees in Bicol has been ordered to do self-quarantine as per the mandate of the Department of Education after they attended national events from other regions. 



DepEd Bicol chief Gilbert Sadsad has ordered the delegates to undergo self-quarantine for 14 days as a precautionary measures set by the Department of Health amid coronavirus outbreak.

At least 302 delegates who attended the National School Press Conference (NSPC) in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, went home. The said event was supposed scheduled from March 9 to 13, but some of them have decided to to travel back home Thursday to avoid travel restriction in Metro Manila.

Meanwhile, some 200 delegates have also attended the National Festival of Talents in Iligan City, Isabela.

Albay Governor Al Francisco Bichara on March 12 has required all residents who traveled outside the region to undergo a 14-day self-quarantine.

Meanwhile, Camarines Sur, Governor Luis Villafuerte has ordered the strict enforcement of the 14-day self-quarantine of travelers from Manila and other places with confirmed COVID-19 cases that will take effect on March 15 to April 14.
