Ex-security guard who takes 30 people hostage in a mall refused P1M offer from employer during negotiations, he just want to be heard

Ex-security guard Alchie Paray, a man who took 30 people as hostages in V-Mall in Greenhills, San Juan was reportedly offered P1 million by his security agency in exchange for his surrender and release of his hostages, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora revealed.



"Dumating 'yung may-ari ng agency during the standoff. Siguro naisip niya baka mapahinahon si Alchie, offeran niya ng isang milyon. Bagamat may offer na ganoon kalaki, hindi naman niya tinanggap," Zamora said at a press briefing.



"Hindi pera ang habol niya dito eh. kailangan niya lang marining ang kanyang hinaing, kaya binigay natin," he added.

Dozen of SWAT team were dispatched in the shopping centre with their assault rifles ready.

During the hostage negotiations, disgruntled Paray has made several demands. He demanded to talk to his fellow security guards as well as the media and wanted his superiors at the agency to publicly apologize to him and then resign from their posts.

After about ten hours of negotiations, Paray decided to release his hostages.
