A panic buying hit in some supermarkets in Manila, day after the report of first local transmission incident in the country. In a Facebook post of Kristianne Kaye, she experienced panic buying in some supermarket with empty shelves.

"We went to landers and snr, sobrang dami tao kaya we decided to go to hypermarket kasi most of the necessities and yung milk ng babies namin doon available.. as of 7pm today.. nag papanic buying ang mga tao."
She said they were also shocked and scared of what she experienced in the supermarket.
"Natatakot... lalo na ang nasa isip namin is ung mga bata.. sana matapos na to."
