Finally, some good news: This 95-year-old man from Mandaluyong is the oldest in the country to have survived from coronavirus disease. Cresencio Junio had been hospitalised in the Mandaluyong City Medical Center (MCMC) about a weeks ago.
But he was discharged on Easter Sunday after making a complete recovery, Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos announced on her Facebook account.
"Maligayang pasko ng pagkabuhay, isang Pagasa ang ibinigay sa atin ni lolo Cresencio Junio na isang 95yrs old na naka-recover sa COVID-19.
"Maraming salamat sa lahat ng mga doctors, nurses at sa lahat ng frontliners ng Mandaluyong city medical center (MCMC). Simbolo ka lolo ng liwanag na nadadanasan natin ngayon.
On Sunday, the Philippines has recorded highest number of fatalities from COVID-19, after the Department of Health (DOH) announced 50 more deaths, bringing the total to 197.
The country has 4,648 cases with 197 patients recovered.
