The son of the victim has claimed that his mother passed away after 9 hospitals rejected to admit her.
According to a report in "24 Oras," Josefina Barroz has suffered sudden stomach ache and eventually vomited with blood on Tuesday morning, April 14.
The family tried to bring her to different public and private hospitals, but no one accepted her despite of her emergency situation.
"Sila pumatay sa nanay ko eh. Lumalaban yung mama ko eh. Kung tinanggap nila yung mama ko, buhay yung mama ko," her son Mark said.
"Nasa ambulansya lang po ang nanay ko. Wala pong tumitingin na nurse kahit pa emergency po yun… Kung anu-ano po yung sinasabi nila. May dala po kaming pera pambayad pero kahit tingnan man lang yung nanay ko, hindi nila tiningnan," he added.
The incident has brought to the attention of Dr. Rustico Jimenez, president of the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines, Inc.
"Under the law, kailangan magbibigay ka muna ng immediate treatment kung kailangan," he said.
"Pero kung talagang walang paglalagyan, saan mo ilalagay? Eh di mamamatay din 'yung pasyente sa emergency room kung pag-stay-in mo dun na wala namang gagawin," he added.
Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte ask the Department of Health to conduct an investigation.
