A heartbreaking story of elderly Belgian woman who refused to use respirator went viral as she told doctors to "save it for the youngest."
The 90-year-old, Susanne Hoylaerts, from Lubbeek was admitted to hospital earlier this month after experiencing shortness of breath and a loss of appetite. Local media Het Laatste Nieuws reports Hoylaerts decided to decline doctor's help to use respirator:
" I don't want the artificial respirator," she said before succumbing to the virus. "Save it for younger patients. I have a beautiful life. Don't cry, you did everything you could for me."

Her daughter Judith, who was not able to say goodbye to her mother, was surprised when she and her siblings began receiving messages of love and support from the people around the world.
"I couldn't say goodbye and I can't go to her funeral," her daughter told Het Lasste Nieuws.
