Manila, Philippines - Over 100 locals and foreign nationals including the celebrity host KC Montero and his wife arrested in a bar in Makati City for violating social distancing.
Reports on Monday said, Makati City Police has conducted an immediate response to the information received that several customers drinking and dinning at a bar - violating the social distancing rules amid the general community quarantine being implemented in Metro Manila.
"That place was open before so parang feeling ko, okay. Why were they open if they're not allowed to open? Maybe that's my fault, I didn't do my research. So feeling ko, they're allowed to be open. So I went," Montero told the press.
KC Montero called their loading into police trucks "backwards social distancing".

"They arrest us for protecting us for social distancing tapos force us to not social distance, and then put us--did you see the truck there? That's bad."

Makati City remains under the general community quarantine (GCQ) with restaurants and cafes are allowed to open at 30% regular capacity. Bars are supposed to remain closed in areas under GCQ.
Those arrested will be facing charges for violations of Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases Law, according to authorities.
