LTO launches online portal for your car registration payment, license application

Land Transportation Office (LTO) launched its website for car registration payment and driver's license application. This is a continues effort of the agency to upgrade and help motorist to ease their burden for their car registration and license application by directing some of its services online.

Motorists can used directly the portal.lto.gov.ph to access their records 24/7 through cellphones or tablets.  The system enables applicants to register, book an appointment and even make cashless payment for fines and other fees before heading to LTO branch office.

This will help speed the transaction procedure and reduced the face to face contact with other people during the pandemic.

At present the online transactions has been made available in Metro Manila, Laoag, Bayombong, Roxsas, Tagbuilaran, Dumaguete, Ormoc, Butuan, Pagadian, Malaybalay, Lipa, Calapan, Naga, Tagum, Davao, General Santos, and Baguio.

Motorists have to sign up as a client in the portal before accessing the site for security measures. LTO assures its client for the safety of data  as it uses an Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIAS) with face and fingerprint identification to prevent false or double identities.

“The new LTO portal is one of the key steps on our way to becoming a frontline government agency showcasing fast and efficient public service for a progressive land transport sector,” said LTO chief and Transportation Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante.
