Protesters lauded Sheriff Christopher Swanson after removing his riot gear off and joined a peaceful protest in Michigan.
Recently, violent protests sparked in various major cities in the U.S. over the death of black man George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Swanson can be seen in the video speaking in the middle of the crowd protesters to show respect to there fight.
“We are walking with you because all you’re asking for is a voice and dignity for all, no matter who you are,” Sheriff Swanson said in a speech after the march. “I love you guys. The police love you.”

The crowd chanted: “Walk with us. Walk with us. Walk with us.”
Several hundred protesters marched from a Target store to the Flint Township Police station and remained peaceful during the protest.
