47 people onboard Cokaliong vessel rescued after it catches fire off Cebu city

All 47 people crew including the captain of MV Filipinas Dinagat managed to abandon the ship and were all rescued after the vessel caught fire late Thursday evening, July 23, 2020 off the waters between Carmen and Sogod, in northern Cebu.

The Coast Guard said, the vessel left Pier 1 in Cebu City at p.m. bound for Palompon, Leyte. Around 10 p.m. PCG-7 received a distress call, informing them that the ship was on fire.

Immediately, the authorities has deployed their men for a rescue mission.

PCG-7 is still conducting and investigation to find out the cause of the fire.
