BLACKPINK's documentary 'Light Up the Sky' on Netflix this October 14

 After a success of their latest music video with Selena Gomez, the famous girl group Blackpink's documentary is expected to released in streaming giant Netflix in October.





Netflix announced their first K-pop documentary 'Light Up the Sky' which featured the rise of the BLACKPINK.


It is directed by Caroline Suh, director of the Netflix docuseries Salt Fat Acid Heat. Fans will see an exclusive interview with the four members Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa from their humble beginnings until they reached the spotlight of world's famous. 


"Blackpink" Light Up the Sky," will be released globally on October 14.




“The K-pop phenomenon has been sweeping the globe and Blackpink has arguably become the most recognizable and most popular girl group in the world,” Netflix’s Adam Del Deo, VP Documentary Features said.


“Director Caroline Suh’s trusted relationship with Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa offers organic and honest moments that give viewers an authentic inside look into the lives of Blackpink, as well as the dedication and grueling preparation each member puts into every hit song, history-making performance and sold-out arena tour.  We’re thrilled to bring their story to their fans worldwide,” he added.



The online streaming Netflix said the film culminates with their historic 2019 Coachella performance, where Blackpink was the first K-pop girl group to take on the renowned Coachella stage


Meanwhile before celebrating the first documentary next month, BLACKPINK’s first studio album, “THE ALBUM,” is scheduled for digital release on October 2.
