Street dog saves abandoned newborn baby in Cebu dumpsite

 There are several stories that can proved dog is man's best friend, and the latest one just happened in a garbage dumpsite in Sibonga town in southern Cebu on Christmas Eve.




The baby boy is said to have been abandoned by his mother in a dumpsite was rescued by a stray dog who asked help from a motorcycle rider which happened to have passing through the area.






The dog kept on barking and tried to get the attention of the rider identified as Junrell Fuentes Revilla around 11 a.m. in the mountainous area of Brgy. Magkagong. 





Curious about the dog's behavior, Revilla stopped his motorcycle and followed the dog to a grassy area of a dumpsite and he spotted a just born baby boy wrapped in a brown towel who had its umbilical cord still attached to her body.

"Police Master Sergeant Venus Tampos of the Sibonga Police Women and Children Protection Desk told The Freeman that the baby may have just been born as part of its umbilical cord was still hanging from its navel when Revilla found him. The infant is currently under the care of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office. 





It is thought police have registered a case against an unidentified woman for the crime.
