Motor Vehicle Inspection System 'MVIS' will no longer mandatory - Palace

Malacañang announced on Thursday that the private motor vehicle inspection system (MVIS) is no longer mandatory requirement for vehicle registration.

"Hindi na po mandatory ang MVIS. Ibig sabihin, kinakailangan wala pong bagong singil, walang karagdagang singil sa pagpaparehistro ng mga sasakyan," Roque told reporters in an online briefing.

The senate panel earlier conducted an inquiry into the motor vehicle inspection system following public criticism.

President Duterte, however, also deferred the implementation of the child car seat law.

"Nagdesisyon na po ang ating Presidente. Ipinagpaliban po o deferred ang implementasyon ng chid car seats," said Palace spokesman Harry Roque.
