President Duterte to car seat law: "Not this time"

 President Rodrigo Duterte ordered to suspend the full implementation of the Child Safety in Motor Vehicles Act, the law that requires children up to 12 and shorter than 4'11" to use car seat.






"The President has decided. The implementation of child car seats has been deferred," Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said.







The law was supposed to take effect on Feb. 2. Transportation officials agreed to defer the implementation of the law as the Land Transportation Office (LTO) would conduct an information , education, and communications campaign for the three to six months prior to its enforcement of the law.





Meanwhile, senator Go, said that the right time will come when it comes to implementing the said law.





"Nagkakahirap-hirap na ang Pilipino ‘wag na natin pahirapan pa. Darating din ang panahon na mai-implement ito dahil batas na po ito," he said.
