Undeclared Ivermectin tablets, other regulated drugs seized at NAIA

Around 20,000 tablets of undeclared Ivermectin tablets along with other undeclared regulated drugs seized by the Bureau of Customs-Port of NAIA (BOC-NAIA) from a shipment imported by Finstad Inc. from New Delhi India.

According to the authorities who examined the shipment, the undeclared items including the Ivermectin reportedly concealed in the inner portion of the shipment. Ivermectin drug is used in specialized hospitals authorized by the Food and Drug Administration through a compassionate special permit.

Cirunay of the Center for Drug Regulation and Research said.

However, BOC-NAIA team said that in conformance with the directive of Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, the agency remains committed to expediting the processing and release of COVID-19 vaccines, other drugs and supplies.

It assured to boost further border security and protection efforts to curb all smuggling attempts to unregistered items.
