A horrifying footage captured showing an armed gang used civilian hostages as human shields and tied them to the car's roof during a series of bank robberies in downtown Brazil.
The scene could best described as an action movie with 20 robbers armed with machine guns, bombs and drones reportedly robbed three banks around midnight Monday. A married father and the son of a police officer were reportedly among the three people who were killed.
The suspects have planted 14 makeshift bombs around downtown area to stop arriving police reinforcement. Video shows how gunmen took civilians as hostages on the streets before strapping them to the roofs as they made their escape.
Schools remain closed on Monday and residents have been advised to stay home until all the devices have been dismantled. Police said three suspect had been arrested.
