Manny Pacquiao will run for Philippine president in 2022

Manny Pacquiao on Sunday declared running for Philippine president on next year 2022 election. In a one-on-one interview with Toni Gonzaga, the boxing champ said, his mission for seeking the country's top position is to jail the violators of the law in the government, to boost the economy, and to give jobs to the Filipinos.

Pacquiao made the announcement weeks after losing his professional fight against Cuban fighter Yordenis Ugas in Las Vegas.

The 42-year-old Senator also mentioned 6 out of his 22-round agenda for the Philippines.

1. Fight against corruption

2. Economic growth and development

3. Employment

4. Free housing

5. Improve healthcare services

6. Sustainable livelihood

He noted that he can do all his 22-round agenda if he will give priority to fight against corruption.

"Gusto kung ipakulong lahat," he said. "Pagnapakulong ko silang lahat pwede na akong hindi na sa politics," he added, referring to all corrupt officials in the country.

Pacquiao accepted the nomination of his political allies during the national assembly of the faction he leads in the ruling PDP-Laban Party, days after a rival faction nominated Duterte's long-time aide, Senator Christopher Bong Go, as its presidential candidate.
