DAVID DIMUZIO REVEALS ABS-CBN WILL NOW PAY HIS ROYALTY 'RIGHT AWAY' AFTER HIS POST WENT VIRAL

Singer-songwriter David DiMuzio recently took to social media and expressed his dismay for a long overdue unpaid royalty allegedly owed to him by the ABS-CBN.

In a now deleted Facebook post, DiMuzio asked his followers if they know a "good" attorney he can hire to contact ABS-CBN.

"They have never paid me even ONE PESO of royalties contractually owed on the songs I released through their record label and publishing company Star Songs, and every time I have inquired over the past 7+ years they either blow me off or don’t respond at all to my request for a royalty statement," he said.

He added that the songs he released through ABS-CBN has since garnered "millions of streams."

"PS: Their record label is still operating at this time," he explained.

After his post went viral, David DiMuzio shared a positive development in the comment section saying, the music publishing division of ABS-CBN had already talked to him.

"The music publishing division of ABS-CBN reached out to me yesterday after my post went viral and said they will pay me in full right away. I'm expecting based on our conversation last night that I will be paid what I'm owed later today. I didn't expect my post to go viral. I just didn't know where to turn based on the situation, and was looking for some guidance.

"I appreciate the support of my Filipino friends and fans on this matter. It's important that artists receive the payment and royalties owed to them.

"Many of my artists friends have never received royalties they are owed by many large entertainment companies in the Philippines. They are scared of these companies, or can't afford to hire an attorney to pursue the monies they are owed. Supporting artists receiving their royalties is in the good interest of everyone. I'm thankful for anyone who supports such a cause. Better late than never," he wrote.
