A call center employee resigned from his job gave his boss a condolence card as notice before his final departure to his company.
Sam Baines of Sheffield, United Kingdom, was about to leave his job after almost a year to focus on university.
He told the Business Insider that the idea of resigning through a condolence card was to give his teammates a joke before he left.
“We are a really close team and have a fantastic manager, so we’re always joking around and having fun. I knew I had to do something a little more creative when giving my notice to try and get one more joke in before I left! I knew my boss would find it funny, so I wasn’t worried about how they’d take it.”
Baines' condolence card was shared by his colleague on Twitter with a message, "So very sorry for your loss" at the front, while "Thinking of you at this difficult time" was printed inside.
He also wrote his last day of work scheduled on July 28.
