U.S. LOGS OVER 1-MILLION CASES IN ONE DAY AMID OMICRON SURGE

Over 1-million people were tested positive  with COVID-19 in the United States in a single day as Omicron spread like wildfire.

On Tuesday, the country has recorded about 1.07-million confirmed cases in the past 24 hours, the most number of cases that any country has ever reported.

The COVID-19 cases has doubled in the last seven days to an average of over 400,00 a day, local media reported.

The surge comes as the US Centers for Disease Control and prevention decided to shorten the recommended time that people should isolate following a positive test result from 10 days to five days if they do not show symptoms.

The surge of cases not only placed more pressure on the country's health care, but is also battering the economy once again, causing a labor shortage, thousands of flight cancellation, and some businesses to once again close their doors.
