The University of Santo Tomas (UST) building has lit up in the national blue-and-yellow colours of Ukraine to express solidarity with the people of Ukraine in the wake of Russia's attack.
"Our National Cultural Treasures are illuminated in blue and yellow tonight in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. May the hostilities end at the soonest possible time to prevent further bloodshed," UST wrote.
"We pray for peace as we begin the Season of Lent," it added.
Russian missiles pounded cities of Ukriane, families cowered in shelters and authorities told people to prepare petrol bombs to defend their capital.
The 411-year-old school is the oldest University in Asia and was founded in 1611.
