CRISTIANO RONALDO HAS BEEN CAUTIONED BY POLICE AFTER FOOTAGE EMERGED APPEARING TO SMASH A PHONE OF AUTISTIC BOY

Football star Cristiano Ronaldo has been cautioned by the police for smashing an autistic boy's phone to the floor after Manchester United lost at Everton last season.

It appeared that the 37 United star slap the hand of Jacob Harding after he stormed off the field at Goodison Park after 1-0 defeat.

Ronaldo apologized to the 14-year-old afterwards as it damaged the boy's phone. He was interviewed and cautioned by police to the alleged assault and damage to property.

In a statement on Wednesday Merseyside Police said: 'We can confirm that a 37-year-old man voluntarily attended and was interviewed under caution in relation to an allegation of assault and criminal damage.

Ronaldo has posted a cryptic message on his official Instagram account, seemingly in response to the reports on the alleged misconduct that emerged on the recent days.

"They know the truth when they interview in a couple weeks. The media is telling lies. I have a notebook and in the last few months of the 100 news I mde, only 5 were right. Imagine how it is. Stick with that tip."
