All eyes are on this boy in the town of Anda, Bohol.
Four-year-old boy Dee Jhay has white eyelashes.
In an episode of "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," couple Dexter and Jennifer said that it was normal when their son, Dee Jhay.
Now the attention is drawn to the child's white eyelashes.
The family noticed there was something strange about the child's eyelashes three days after he was born because the color of his eyelashes was not black.
And while growing up, the hair in Dee Jhay's eyes became even whiter. In the family, Dee Jhay is the only one who is "strange". Some of their neighbors suspected that the child might be "anak-araw" or albino.
Some people also think that maybe the child's white eyelashes are lucky, or maybe it was affected by the medicine, or because of Jennifer's conception when she was pregnant.
Before being examined by a specialist with the "KMJS" team, it appeared that aside from the eyelashes, the mother showed something on Dee Jhay's body that was also white. White skin can be seen on the child's stomach.
Dee Jhay was taken to the dermatologist, Dr. Joyce Castillo. According to her, the child's white skin and white eyelashes are caused by the condition "Vitiligo"
Dr. Castiilo added, "The child's white eyelashes are also called "Poliosis".
"Poliosis" is due to the low amount of melanin in the hair follicle. It is related to vitiligo.
Vitiligo is an auto-immune condition. It is related to thyroid problem.
