Andy Cotoco took to TikTok to share his bad experienced upon arrival in Manila on Thursday, September 8.
On his TikTok video, Cotoco narrated how he loses around P200,000 worth of items allegedly stolen from his baggage. Cotoco, who came from Spain via Etihad Airways have brought three baggage with him but discovered one of those bags was apparently lighter and the lock was broken.
According to him his initial baggage weighed 13.5 kilograms, but when it rechecked by authorities it appeared that it loses more weight, leaving 8 kgs remain.
The alleged stolen items include two luxury shoes, several clothes and perfumes. Cotoco said he felt frustrated and traumatized over the incident.
Meanwhile, according to Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) initial investigation it appeared to be "the luggage tampering could not have happened at NAIA Terminal 3 but at the foreign airports where passengers made stop-overs en route to Manila."
MIAA called on Etihad Airways to help the affected passenger.
"We expect Etihad Airways to extend immediate assistance to passenger while the investigation continues," the statement read.
