For the first time Tanya Bautista, the wife of the actor/host Vhong Navarro appeared in the media to share her thoughts about the situation of their family most especially to her husband regarding the filed case by Deniece Cornejo.
In her appearance in the media, she said that she's fear for the safety of her husband after Vhong received an arrest warrant from the Regional Trial Court.
"Di ko alam paano nila patutunayan ‘tong sinasabi nila. And then suddenly, may reverse. Bakit kasi may rape? “Lahat ng ebidensya ibinigay namin. Consistent si Vhong sa kuwento niya since day one. So hindi ko alam kung anong nakikita nilang probable cause," Tanya expressed.
They thought that the case would finally end but even so, they were determined to fight for Vhong's right to bail even though the rape case was non-bailable.
Tanya further revealed that she was afraid of Deniece's request that Vhong, who is currently in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation, should be transferred to the Taguig City Jail.
She added, "Right now, ang worry ko ay ‘yong security for Vhong, ‘yon na lang, nandito na kami so lalaban kami. At Alam ko mapapanalo natin ‘to but for the mean time, at least yong security niya. Natatakot ako for him ‘pag nailipat siya sa Taguig.”
For now, Vhong is still in the custody of the NBI but admits he doesn't know how long he will stay in the detention center.
Tanya, on the other hand, believes that her husband will be acquitted and they will continue to fight for him to be granted bail in the rape case for temporary freedom.
