PHILHEALTH EXEC CLAIMS AGENCY CAN STILL OPERATE UNTIL 2027

The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) actuarial life is projected to last until 2027 despite funding support that will be coming in from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has a projected actuarial life until year 2027, according to PhilHealth Acting Senior Vice President Nerissa Santiago.

Santiago answered the queries during a hearing of the House Committee on Good Governance and Public Accountability, where Marikina Rep. Stella Quimbo asked about PhilHealth financial condition.

Santiago said, "The assumptions can be different from what will transpire in the future. For example, the assumption that is in the projection will depend on the subsidy coming from the government with respect to the contribution for the indirect contributors."

Added that, "It will also depend of the rollout of benefit enhancement in the future."

PhealHealth is also projecting a net lossof P57 billion this year due to the massive health pandemic claims.

However, Quimbo to her response couldn't imagine how PhilHealth would loss P57 billion pointing that it generated a positive income during the first half of the year.
