POBLACION GIRL FINED P20,000 FOR VIOLATING QUARANTINE RULES

 Gwyneth Anne Chua or dubbed as "Poblacion Girl" was fined P20,000 for mandatory quarantine protocols violation last December.



She appeared before Judge Maureen Rubio-Marquez of Makati City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 128 on Monday. According to the court, Chua, a returning overseas Filipino from the United States "escaped" mandatory hotel quarantine to dine with acquaintances at Kampal Bar and Mijo Comfort Food in Makati.



She tested positive of COVID-19 five days later along with 11 of her close contacts.




Chua pleaded guilty for violating the Republic Act No. 11332, or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Disease and Health Events of Public health Concern Act.



She also apologized to the court for the hassle she made, according to the City Prosecutor.



Under the RA 11332, violator will be fined ranging from P20,000 to P50,000 and/or imprisonment for one month to six months, or both, depending on the court's decision.
