NEGROS OCCIDENTAL IS 6TH RICHEST PROVINCE IN THE PHILIPPINES

 Negros Occidental is one of the top 10 wealthiest province in the country which ranked  number 6th for the second year in a row with P18 billion in total assets in 2021, according to the Commission on Audit (COA) report.



Cebu remained on top position as the richest province in the country with total assets worth P215.27 billion, followed by Rizal withP30.6 billion, Batangas P29.7 billion, Davao de Oro with P23.2 billion, and Bukidnon with P19.4 billion.




The province of Iloilo landed in eight place with P17.39-billion in total assets.



The announcement came after COA released the figures included in the 2021 Annual Report for Local Government mandated by the Constitution and the Government Auditing Code of the Philippines.



It covers the 97.7 percent or 1,676 of the 1,715 local government units financial statement which consist of 81 provinces, 1,488 municipalities, 22,680 barangays and the Bangsamoro government composed of 21 ministries and offices.
