QR CODE IN A CHURCH IN PARAÑAQUE FOR INSTANT DONATIONS WENT VIRAL, 'PATI SI LORD MAY GCASH NA'

 Gcash for voluntary donations is now available in a church in Parañaque, and the usage of QR code to make it accessible to the faithful is making the rounds online.



Givers may now have the choice to share their church monetary offering in the Our Lady of Unity Parish, Diocese of Parañaque.




The start of the pandemic has changed the way churches function. Virtual tools and technologies such as QR codes have helped devotees and churches tremendously. Churches have been quick to join the world of virtual communication.



However, in a now viral Facebook post of Anfernee Darrel Calazan Lao showing a laminated GCash QR code  in a church seats with a word, "scan to donate" went viral as it sparked social media debate. He also captioned in jest, "Pati si lord may gcash na."



Netizens are flooding comments on the comments section of the post which earned over 22K shares and 24K reactions.



In a Facebook page of Our Lady Unity Parish, a Gcash QR code is also published on the cover photo, detailing some instructions for the purpose of donations. The church offer daily mass which was broadcast online through their official Facebook page where people can join virtually.
