KANSAS MAN SHOT AND KILLED BY HIS DOG DURING A HUNTING TRIP

 A Kansas man was accidentally shot and killed by his dog during a hunting a trip. According to reports his pet dog has stepped on the loaded rifle at the back of the car.




Joseph Austin Smith, 30, has died on the scene Saturday morning minutes after emergency services arrived. Emergency responders tried CPR and other life-saving measures on him, according to a press statement from the Sumner County Sheriff's Office obtained by Insider.





Smith was shot around 9:40 am in a truck in the 1,600 block of East 80th Street, about 45 miles south of Wichita, Wellington Fire and EMS Chief Tim Hay told NBC News.



Another person, who was in the driver's seat, was physically unharmed, police said.
