Gilas Pilipinas has defeated Lebanon, 107-96, in their 2nd round- Group E matchup for the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers on Friday, feb. 24, held at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.
Naturalised Filipino Justin Brownlee led Gilas Pilipinas with 17 points, four rebounds and five assists. Jamie Malonzo, meanwhile, contributed 15 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Dwight Ramos and Ray Parks added 10 points. June Mar Fajardo and CJ Perez boosted a combined 17 points.
For the Lebanese side veteran Amir Saoud's led the team with 27 points, Hayk Gyokchyan's 21 points, Sergio El Darwich's at 19 points, and Karim Zeinoun added 14 points.
Gilas dominated the first quarter with 25-19 in the first quarter and stretch the lead in the second quarter with 36-19.
Gilas will next to matchup with Jordan on Monday, at 6:00PM in Bulacan.
