NASA DISCOVERED ASTEROID THAT COULD HIT PLANET EARTH IN 2046

NASA is now keeping the eye to a new asteroid called 2023 DW which was discovered with a "small chance" of hitting the earth in 2046.

The potential impact is said to be on Valentine's Day in 23 years, according to NASA's Planetary Defense Coordination Office.

The incoming space rock with roughly the size of an Olympic swimming pool was discovered on February 26. Currently, it has a Torino Scale ranking of 1, which means that it's predicted to pose "no unusual level of danger."  or it has a 1 in 625 chance of colliding the earth.

"This objects is ot particularly concerning," said Davide Farnocchia, a navigation engineer.

NASA has since collecting more data observations of 2023 DW and additional analysis is performed.

"Often when new objects are first discovered," NASA Asteriods Watch noted Tuesday on Twitter,"it takes several weeks of data to reduce the uncertainties and adequately predict their orbits years into the future."
