VISUALLY-IMPAIRED GRADUATE FROM UNIVERSITY OF BAGUIO AMONG THE 2022 BAR EXAM PASSERS

 Anthony Mark Dulawan Emocling, a graduate from the University of Baguio (UB) becomes the first visually impaired passers of the Philippine Bar exam.



He was among the 3,992 out of 9,183 passers who took the November 2022 Bar examination.

Attorney Mark leave with visually-impaired illness since he was 10 years old after he suffered retina detachment that lead to his total blindness.




Admitted that going to law school become a challenge for him in many ways, finally his perseverance and determination paid off.

Former 1967 Bar topnotcher, School of Law dean and Narvacan, Ilocos Sur Mayor Pablito V. Sanidad Sr. hailed his visually impaired student for his great success. He patiently guided Attorney Mark throughout his journey to law school.

 




"Congratulations Anthony Mark Dulawan Emocling!!! My blind student at the University of Baguio, School of Law, who against all the odds and despite being blind is now a Lawyer!" Sanidad said in a Facebook post.

 

 

 

Attorney Mark said that he want to become the voice of his fellow PWDs.


"A lot of PWDs po kasi are being discriminated and they don't have a voice. There are crimes committed against PWDs pero tinitiis nalang nila. I want to be an advocate to help people," he said.
