BARBIE MOVIE STARRING MARGOT ROBBIE BANNED IN VIETNAM

Vietnam has restricted the profoundly expected "Barbie" film from homegrown dissemination over a scene highlighting a guide that shows China's s nine-dash line, claiming most of the parts of South China Sea, state media reported Monday.

"Barbie," featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, was initially scheduled to open in Vietnam on July 21, similar date as in the US, as per state-run Tuoi Tre paper.

"We do not grant license for the American movie ‘Barbie’ to release in Vietnam because it contains the offending image of the nine-dash line," the paper detailed, referring to Vi Kien Thanh's statement, top of the Branch of Film, an administration body responsible for permitting and blue penciling foreign movies.

The U-formed line, which was first seen on maps in 1947, incorporates parts that Vietnam sees as its mainland rack, where it has granted oil concessions.

The line is exceptionally dubious as a significant number of China's neighbors — including Taiwan, the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia and Vietnam — have contending and covering regional cases, and the Chinese domain is challenged.
