The March 2023 Medical Technologist Board Exam Passer was killed on the spot after an Isuzu wing van hit her while crossing a pedestrian lane along MacArthur Roadway in Dumoy, at 9:02 p.m., on Tuesday.
Police Captain Hazel Tuazon, the representative of the Davao City Police Office, named her as Lyra Martin Marcito, 24, single and a resident of Saliao Esperanza, Sulatan Kudarat.
The driver of the truck was identified as Renato Garciano Renato, 51, married.
Initial finding showed the truck was moving in the inner lane from Toril, heading towards the downtown area when the accident happened.
The truck incidentally hit Marcito, who was going across the road. Reports said the driver conceded his carelessness. He is presently having to deal with penalties of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.
First responders from the Barangay Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office attended the victim but unfortunately she did not survive.
