4 killed, 40 injured in Mindanao State University blast

Four people were killed and at least 40 others were injured in an explosion at the Mindanao State University gymnasium in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur province, Philippines, on Sunday, December 3, 2023.



The explosion occurred during a mass at the gymnasium. The identities of the perpetrators are still unknown, and the motive for the attack is unclear.

Authorities are investigating the incident and have placed the MSU campus on lockdown.

The governor emphasized the province's commitment to upholding human rights, including the right of religion. He publicly denounce the act of terror that targeted the worship and educational institution.
