San Miguel Beermen Star June Mar Fajardo Out for 4-6 Weeks with Fractured Hand

San Miguel Beermen superstar June Mar Fajardo will miss a portion of their PBA Commissioner's Cup campaign after getting diagnosed with a fractured hand injury. The development was confirmed by San Miguel team manager Gee Abanilla who announced that the dominant center will most likely be out for four-six weeks.

Abanilla added that Fajardo fractured his metacarpal finger on his left hand during their game against the Rain or Shine Elastopainters several days ago.

Fajardo suffered the injury during the third quarter of the game when he tried to bother Adrian Nocum's layup attempt in their rim.

Seconds after the defensive sequence, Fajardo quickly held his left hand, grimaced in pain, and was attended by the San Miguel medical staff.

Although Fajardo was able to get back into the ball game after the medical team applied a tight taping for more cushion, the league's reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) had limited touches down the block and was more active in bothering Rain or Shine's attempts from the shaded lane.

After the game, Fajardo then rushed to his doctors to have his hand checked and is yet to confirm if any surgeries will be made.

This will be a huge blow to the San Miguel franchise as Fajardo's absence will leave a huge gap in their strong frontcourt.

Now it is up for the likes of Moala Tautuaa and Rodney Brondial to step up if the Beermen wants to push their current PBA winning streak.

San Miguel is currently one of the league's hottest teams after building a three-game winning streak while carrying a 3-1 win-loss record.
