Huawei Unveils Nova Y62 and Y62 Plus: Two New Budget-Friendly Smartphones with Triple Cameras and Large Batteries

Huawei has quietly entered the South African market with two new mid-range smartphones, the Nova Y62 and the Nova Y62 Plus. These budget-friendly devices boast impressive specs, including a 50MP triple camera system, a long-lasting 5,000mAh battery, and a spacious 6.52-inch display.

Both phones share a similar design, featuring a sleek IPS LCD panel with an HD+ resolution and a modern waterdrop notch for the 5MP selfie camera. While their processors remain unnamed, they pack an octa-core punch clocked at 2.2GHz, paired with 4GB RAM in the Y62 and 8GB RAM in the Plus variant. Both models offer ample storage with 128GB built-in, expandable via a microSD card slot.

One of the highlights of the Nova Y62 series is the camera setup. Each phone boasts a 50MP main sensor alongside two 2MP cameras for depth and macro shots, enabling you to capture stunning photos and close-ups. They run on Android 12 with EMUI 12 on top, but like other recent Huawei phones, lack Google Mobile Services (GMS).

Despite the lack of GMS, the Y62 and Y62 Plus come loaded with all the essentials you'd expect, including dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, a USB-C port, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a handy 3.5mm headphone jack.

While the exact pricing for the South African market is still under wraps, the Nova Y62 series comes in two elegant color options: Sapphire Blue and Midnight Black. Get ready to experience powerful performance, exceptional cameras, and long-lasting battery life without breaking the bank when these phones hit the shelves soon.
