Philippines Passport Gains Ground in Global Ranking: Offering Visa-Free Access to 69 Destinations

Good news for Filipino travelers! The Philippines has improved its ranking in the 2024 Henley Passport Index, jumping two spots to 73rd place. This means Filipino passport holders now enjoy visa-free access to 69 destinations around the globe, a welcome increase from 66 in 2023.

Say goodbye to visa hassles for trips to popular destinations like Barbados, Brazil, Brunei, Cambodia, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Morocco, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

However, not all doors are open just yet. Visa applications are still required for destinations like Australia, Italy, Japan, Norway, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, the United Arab Emirates (e-visa), the United Kingdom, and the United States.

But wait, there's more! The Philippines isn't alone in its ascent. South Korea also climbed the ladder, landing in the coveted 5th place alongside France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Singapore. Meanwhile, Finland, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, Ireland, and the Netherlands follow closely behind, proving that strong passports are becoming increasingly common.

For those globetrotters seeking the ultimate visa-free experience, passports from these top-ranked countries grant access to a whopping 194 destinations. On the other end of the spectrum, Afghanistan remains at the bottom with visa-free access to only 28 destinations.

The Henley Passport Index, based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and research by Henley & Partners, ranks passports based on the number of travel destinations accessible without a visa. This ranking can be a valuable tool for Filipino travelers planning their next adventure, helping them choose destinations where they can simply pack their bags and go.

So, Filipino travelers, celebrate your newfound passport power! Explore the world, experience new cultures, and create unforgettable memories with the freedom of visa-free travel to 69 exciting destinations. Bon voyage!
